Transformation Series

The OBJECTIVE

The Transformation Series offers an in depth breakdown of the fundamental alignments
required to understand the complex practice of yoga. Because Yoga is defined as the unity
between mind, spirit and body, anatomically aligning the postures will act as a solid
foundation of the practice and truly inflict transformation. Each student will obtain the
imperative knowledge required to build a foundation, avoid injury, practice with integrity,
and ultimately train the mind to disconnect from the outcome and focus on the present

moment.

The INSPIRATION

As stated in some of the very first (Yoga) texts: We can only discover the power of the
practice when we start from the very beginning. From there, we learn everything. From

anywhere else, we learn nothing.

The INCENTIVE

Exercising any pose without the understanding of its foundation will not only strengthen
poor habits, but can also cause repetitive motion injury. Mentally struggling with any
inadequate form generates negative energy feedback to the body. As an outcome, the sense of

frustration will cause the overall practice to lack in energetic benefits.

Session I: The Foundation

Session 2: The Spine

Topics Covered: Forward Bending, Back Bending, Straightening The Spine

Prerequisites: Transformation Series Sessions I

Session III: The Pelvis

Topics Covered: Closed Hips, Open Hips, One Hip Open & One Hip Closed

Prerequisites: Transformation Series Sessions I & II

Session IV: The Vinyasa

Topics Covered: Chaturanga Dandasana, Plank, Downward Facing Dog, Upward Facing Dog

Prerequisites: Transformation Series Sessions I, II & III

Session V: The Inversions

Topics Covered: Arm Balancing, Headstands, Handstands

Prerequisites: Transformation Series Sessions I, II, III & IV
